How we support people

Our Projects

Practical Support (PS) Project

ViVAsPro will provide weekly drop-in sessions at a friendly accessible central London site. Drop-in sessions are aimed at providing and improving access to practical support opportunities.

Support given at these drop-in sessions will match peoples’ needs regardless of age, gender, race, religion or disability.  Types of support we provide include:

  • Support to access the right services
  • Language support; BSL relay to help with understanding meetings
  • Personal support at meetings; helping to pace meetings

This support helps clients to start dealing with the effects of hardship, trauma and/or abuse, and help us to identify any ongoing or potential risks of further difficulties.

Support will be provided by experienced professionals and dedicated volunteers. Our advisors bring with them a wealth of professional knowledge and extensive experience from working in the field.

English for Life activities

Many disabled people, and those from minority groups, leave school with few or no qualifications.  Many therefore have a poor standard of literacy or comprehension and find it very difficult to deal with many things others take for granted.  Because of this, accessing opportunities and services can be restricted.

Our English for Life activities include providing support in:

  • Reading and understanding letters, emails, leaflets and other documents, i.e. job descriptions. Even understanding instructions on medication packets.
  • Writing letters and emails, and application forms
  • Understanding how to use the internet, i.e. on-line services

The above support helps individuals become more independent of others and confident in dealing with things on their own.

Note: All clients and information are treated with the strictest confidentiality.
